East Woodhay residents Lord and Lady Hamilton opened this year’s Show, a long standing community event, which despite record breaking summer temperatures and deep fried crispy gardens, saw some impressive exhibits and an increased number of entrants across the classes.

A good crowd enjoyed a lovely day looking at the exhibits and seeing how their entries had
fared, perusing the various stalls, and listening to the East Woodhay Silver Band while
enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake or a freshly cooked burger. The day
concluded with an auction of donated exhibits and produce with auctioneer Chris
Boreham `persuading everyone that they couldn’t possibly leave without 3 marrows or 5
bunches of dahlias.
