About

The East Woodhay Flower Show is an annual, not to be missed event for the whole family- nothing like a bit of fruit and veg to bring the community together in friendly rivalry!  As well as classes for the green fingered there is also a wide selection of craft, cookery, flower arranging and photography classes – check them out’.

The Flower Show is held at

East Woodhay Village Hall, Heath End, RG20 0AP

Entertainment from the East Woodhay Silver Band

Entrance from 2pm at ADULTS £1  CHILDREN FREE

1st Prize – £1
2nd Prize – 75p
3rd – 50p

Auction to be held after the Show at approx. 4.15pm
Followed by the Raffle draw

for the Auction to be held after the Show. Proceeds for Show Funds.

AGM and Autumn Show

AGM and AUTUMN SHOW

To be held on
THURSDAY 21st SEPTEMBER 2023
ALL WELCOME

EXHIBITS from 7.30pm. Must be staged by 8pm

  2. 1 Vase of Spray Chrysanthemums (5 stems)
  3. 1 Vase of Michaelmas Daises
  4. 1 Pot Plant, max. 9in pot
  5. 3 Onions
  6. 5 Potatoes
  7. 5 Apples
  8. Exhibit of Autumn Leaves and Berries
  9. Vase of Dahlias (5) not Poms
  10. Vase of Dahlias (5) Poms

THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Will commence at 8pm and the Agenda will include:

  • OFFICAL REPORTS
  • FINANCIAL REPORTS
  • ELECTION OF COMMITTEE
  • JUDGES FOR 2024 SHOW

Flower Show Rules

  1. All exhibits to section A & B must have been grown by exhibitor
    in their own garden or allotment.
  2. No exhibitor to have more than one entry in any one class.
  3. The entry form must be filled in & sent to either Mrs J. Powell,Copner or Jean Partridge, 1 Heath End with entrance money,
    20p per exhibit, by 8pm Saturday 12th August 2023.
    Any entry accepted by the Secretary after this date will be
    charged 50p per entry. No entries will be accepted after
    Wednesday 16th August.
  4. Exhibits may be brought to the show from 8am on the day of the
    show and must be staged by 10.45am when the hall will be
    cleared for judging. Exhibits may also be staged on Friday 18th
    August from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.
  5. The committee will not be responsible for any loss or damage
    to any exhibit during the show but all ordinary care will be
    taken of them.
  6. All points in dispute must be submitted to the committee before 4pm
    on the day of the show.
  7. Exhibits must not be removed until after 4pm.
  8. No article to be entered that has previously been shown.
  9. All exhibits to be strictly to size where stated.
  10. Cups will be presented after 3pm
  11. Prize money to be collected AFTER 3.30pm and BEFORE 5,00pm
    at the village hall. Prize money not collected will be put into show
    funds.
  12. All exhibitors must provide own vases.

If in any doubt on how to show your exhibits, please
do not hesitate to phone a Committee Member

The show classes are divided into 4 Sections

  • SECTION ‘A’ OPEN – Vegetables and Fruit
  • SECTION ‘B’ OPEN – Flowers/Plants
  • SECTION ‘C’ OPEN – Preserves, Baking, Crafts, Floral Art, Photography and Eggs
  • SECTION ‘D’ – Childrens Classes
    • 13 -16 years inclusive
    • 9 – 12 years inclusive
    • 5 – 8 years inclusive
    • Under 5

The entry form must be filled in & sent to either June Powell, 4 Copnor, Woolton Hill, Newbury, RG20 9XH or Jean Partridge, 1 Heath End, East Woodhay, Newbury, RG20 0AU with entrance money,  20p per exhibit, by 8pm Saturday 12th August 2023.
Any entry accepted by the Secretary after this date will be charged 50p per entry. No entries will be accepted after Wednesday 18th August.
